Frequently Asked Questions
What do I need to bring to my first appointment?
Be sure to complete the information in the new patient package email in advance. It is helpful to bring all your medications, including supplements and over the counter medications used in the last 2 month to your appointments. Also bring any records of past testing, whether this is genetic testing or psychoeducational testing. Some medications will require that we have a copy of recent lab work.
How often do I need to follow up?
This depends entirely on how you are doing. We generally see individuals more frequently initially and then less often when clients are doing very well. We can determine together what an appropriate amount of time between appointments should be. Clients on controlled substances need to be seen at least every three months.
Can I be seen by Telemedicine?
Yes, we do provide Telemedicine services through the Spruce App which is fully HIPAA secure and encrypted. Some follow up visits can be by phone only, but all Initial Evaluations need to be completed in person or by video/audio Telemedicine. Please be sure you have good internet services and are in a quiet and private location where you will not be disturbed for the duration of your Telemedicine visit.
Can you refer me to a therapist?
We work with a broad range of therapists in the community and with several excellent therapists whose offices are right on our floor. The specific referral will depend on your individual circumstances and needs.
